-“No one in the g/t community talks to me because I can’t draw :(”
False. Untrue. Drawing is not everything. So many popular g/t blogs became well known simply for their lovely g/t blurbs and musings. Don’t hold yourself back by saying “I can’t do this thing so no one will like me”. So what if you can’t draw? Or can’t write long g/t stories? Make mini posts about scenarios you love or just cute ideas you have related to g/t. Chances are there are quite a few people around here who love them as much as you do. You got this. Lacking one talent only leaves room open for another imo.
-Also, remember this:
In the grand scheme of things, huge follower counts don’t matter. If that’s you’re main goal here, there’s a chance you’ll feel bummed out if it doesn’t happen as quickly as you think. I know that used to be a huge concern of mine back when I first started out, and I felt miserable when my follower count didn’t immediately sky rocket. Once I stopped caring about that, I felt much better and started to get along better with people.
-A biggy that I’ve already posted about before:
No amount of common interests you share with someone is going to push you immediately up to best-friend status. Being mutuals doesn’t either. You have to build up to friendships. Sometimes it doesn’t work out, but that’s how it is offscreen too. It doesn’t make you (or them) a bad person.
-One that has been hurting some people in this community:
Don’t try guilt people into socializing with you. I feel like this one is pretty simple. (I know some people have certain disorders of which this behavior can be a symptom of, and this is not directed at you!)
-And finally, for the newer people:
This “community” we have going on here isn’t a gated community. There isn’t a hierarchy. You don’t have to appease to the big popular bloggers to get in. Just do your g/t thing, and boom, you’re in. Sadly we don’t have jackets, but you’re part of the club now buddy. That’s all there is to it. It might be a little slow at first, but people are gonna come to you. Don’t worry. Just relax, do your own thing, and have fun with it!
