I’m making a G/t platform game. Right now I’ve got three sizes and one room, where there are things to jump on and coins to collect. Question for other people: What else should there be?
I’m not sayin romance or anything like that, but a storyline of some sort with it? A lot of indie platformers seem to lack tangible storylines.
Well, seeing that two of my favorite games are puzzle/platformers (Fez and some of the Metroids), I just really like pretty environment design, good music, and worldbuilding. Generally keep NPCs to a minimum – or nonexistent, like Metroid – and keep most of the storytelling visual. But those are pretty artsy games, and in the case of Fez, artsy-FARTSY. So, ignore me basically. 😀
