So like…. imagine a giant robot that’s piloted by a human. Maybe it’s for war or maybe some sort of research bot, it’s up to preference. The robot has an AI on board that helps the human pilot the big ol’ bot as well as a link with the human’s suit/systems to keep an eye on them.
The two are use to the current relationship, having been linked and working together for awhile, and are good friends at this point in time. The AI teases the human about being small and squishy and the human retorts that’s why they have a tin can to keep them safe.
One day, though, while they are on patrol/out and about, the two accidentally comes across a clever trap that short circuits the robot and forces the AI flee down the link to the human’s suit to stay safe. The two have to leave the robot body for safety and set off with their survival gear.
As they are walking, the AI manages to pull enough power to make a hologram to communicate, but it’s so tiny! And while it can tap into the human’s whole system via their link, they still feel absolutely small and weak. They’ve never been this small before!
And while the human wants to tease their AI friend, they realize the AI is seriously freaked out and they do their best to console their AI friend, telling them they’ll be able to keep them safe for once and assuring them they’ll do all they can to get their AI friend back to normal.
